About the nesting material
Our wild bird nesting material is made from 100% British sheep wool that is collected from our own flock of native and rare breed British sheep. The wool is thick and warm and has fantastic insulating properties.
The look and smell:
When you unpack your fleece you will notice an slight sheepy smell that comes from the year round grass pasture they feed on and the natural lanolin in the fleece.
The fleece colour will be creamy white, brown, black or grey - as it has come from a rare breed sheep - these come in a range of wonderful colours.
The shearing:
All shearing is done by hand by a professional shearer on our own family farm, as this minimises the stress to the sheep. It is very important to shear sheep to prevent illness.
Pictures show an example fleece. This is not necessarily the one you will receive.

The funny thing about Moorit Sheep
The funny thing about Moorit (brown) sheep is that on our farm, at least they stick together in a group. Even if they are in a larger flock of sheep, when you need to move them or there is any danger, the Moorits will always be together.
