Why use wool pellets?
These pellets have a variety of benefits for your garden
Retain Moisture in your soil
These little pellets can hold up to 10 x their weight in water and release it slowly when conditions turn drier. This reduces the frequency you need to water your plants. As part of this process they create little pockets of air in your soil, which helps root growth.
Slow release fertiliser
These wool pellets slowly release Nitrogen and Potassium in to your soil to encourage healthy growth.
Slug Repellent
When used around the base of plants, they felt together to form a mat that deters slugs and snails. This is because the wool is made of tiny abrasive fibres that irritate the slug's foot.

The look and smell:
When you first open this compostible bag you will notice a slight sheepy smell to the pellets, this comes from the year round grass pasture they feed on and the natural lanolin in the fleece.
These wool pellets are a warm cream or grey colour as they are made from sheep which in a range of wonderful colours.
The shearing:
All shearing is done by hand by a professional shearer on our own family farm, as this minimises the stress to the sheep. It is very important to shear sheep to prevent illness.

The funny thing about Moorit Sheep
The funny thing about Moorit (brown) sheep is that on our farm, at least they stick together in a group. Even if they are in a larger flock of sheep, when you need to move them or there is any danger, the Moorits will always be together.
